All MTS safety shoes comply with the new EN ISO 20345:2004 and EN ISO 20345:2007 norms and are therefore qualified as safety shoes: they contain a toe cap resistant to 200 joules.
The new EN ISO 20345:2004 norm replaces the EN 345-1 norm. It is obligatorily required for all new models created after August 2005.
The new EN ISO 20345:2007 norm has been created to oblige the manufacturers to improve the slipping resistance of their shoes. The CTC (French laboratory for shoes certification) has incorporated new tests to analyze the slipping resistance of the outsole.
MTS safety shoes have succeed to reach the required slipping resistance on the two type of floors, steel and ceramic, so our soles have the SRC marking on them.
All new MTS safety shoes models are developped according to these maximum slipping resistance SRC requirements.
These new norms are more complete (additional tests) and has new requirements (new rules for the design of the safety footwear, quality of the components). Furthermore the norms takes into account, for the first time, the ergonomic and the comfort on walking.
The EN ISO 20345:2004 and EN ISO 20345:2007 norms contain four protective categories, S1, S1P, S2 and S3:

X = Requirements obligatorily satisfied by MTS safety shoes.
O = Optional requirements, refer to the symbols on safety footwear.
* The fundamentals risks are defined as follows: the quality and the performance of the incorporated materials (leathers, lining, soles…), tear resistance, abrasive resistance, permeability to vapour, adherence between the upper and the sole and anti-slippery properties of the sole.
MTS takes responsibility for every safety shoe it produces. The CE marking on every pair indicates that the products are in accordance with the norms of safety footwear, as well as comfort and solidity as defined by law and controlled by notified bodies who report to the European Authorities in Brussels. This mark of conformity constitutes a guarantee for the protection criteria required by the end user.
The conformity to the norm is certified by a CE certificate. MTS is always striving to bring you more than safety: all the tests results obtained for each MTS safety shoe are more superior to the values requested by the norm.
The CE certificates as well as the technical data sheets are available for each MTS safety shoe. Please do not hesitate to ask for. |
